Rules

Everyone must wear closed toe shoes. No Exceptions. Also, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing – this is a sporting event!

You must be 21 and older to throw axes. Speculators do not have to be 21, they are not allowed in the range and must follow and must follow all directions of the facility and management.

Yes, we require each axe thrower to fill out a waiver before the session begins.

We ONLY do 2 handed throws over the head. Each group is assigned an Axpert who will go over safety basics and demonstrate how to properly throw an axe.

Please check in at the Ales & Axes bar and arrive 10 minutes before your start time.

We accept debit/credit cards and cash for purchases made.

No outside food or beverages are permitted in the facility. Yes! Please click on the food and drink menu page.

A. We know what you’re thinking; everyone says it: “Axe throwing and alcohol?! That sounds like a bad idea.” You might be surprised that the vast majority of axe throwing venues also serve alcohol. We  make sure to monitor our customers closely. If a participant arrives intoxicated or becomes too impaired to play safely, we reserve the right to the end their experience. This is for the safety of all participants.

Booking

Friday 4-11pm

Saturday 2-11pm

Sunday 2-8pm

Two-hour sessions cost $40/person. One-hour sessions cost $25/person. One hour/one target costs a flat fee of $40.

Two-hour sessions are for groups of 5-12 people. One-hour sessions are for groups of 2-5 people. Both sessions include a full range with 2 targets. Also, we have a one-hour/one target special for 1-2 people.

Yes, we offer walk-in options for those of you who are spontaneous. All walk-ins are on a first come, first served basis and subject to availability. Walk-ins may be paired with other aspiring axe throwers, depending on availability.

We strongly recommend making reservations. We have limited space and spots fill up quickly. If you happen to be in the neighborhood and pop-in, we’ll do our best to accommodate you!

All reservations must be booked online at least 6 hours in advance. Booking reservations within a shorter timeframe must be made by staff. Please call us at 716-342-2300

If you are booking on a Friday or Saturday evening, then you should book at least 3-4 weeks in advance. All other reservations should be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.

We do not have a minimum amount of people required. Our maximum capacity is 42 axe throwers. For reservations larger than 12 people, please contact us directly.

We do our best to keep groups separated, but depending upon availability, you may be combined with another group. If you’re adamant about having the range to yourself, book 8 people or more for a 2-hour session and the range will be private.

All sales are final. If you would like to reschedule. Please email us at pward@buffaloriverworks.com with your order number and we may be able to reschedule you.

72+ hour notice: Reschedule to any available time slot of your choice.

24-72 hours notice: Rescheduling fee of $20

Less than 24 hours notice/no show: no refunds, ne reschedule

MISC

Yes. Throwing axes is similar to other target sports. Our experienced and highly trained staff are in the throwing areas with you at all times and monitor your throws for safety and guide you through the entire session.

Yes! Please do not bring an entourage (limited space). They are welcome to watch, eat and drink!

Yes, we supply all materials and equipment, including axes, Please DO NOT bring your own axe. Outside axes are not allowed.
